myTurn now allows you to require users to select an appointment time slot to pick up items. Note that appointments/time slots are not yet available for returns on ad-hoc check outs, but will be coming soon.
You can also limit the number of appointments or users that can select each time slot. This not only allows you to control how many people will show up to pick up items on a given day, or during each time of day, but you can also match time slots to available staffing or even give you team a break by setting 0 (or fewer) appointments for certain time slots.
Time Slots require reservations to be enabled (Settings -> Loans & Reservations -> Reservations), are available to all myTurn customers, and can be configured at:

Your open hours can be split into multiple time slots, and you can limit the number of reservation appointments that are allowed to start per time slot. Time Slot length and appointments per time slot can and must be configured for each day of the week you are open separately. This allows you to match you availability to staffing and customer needs.
- Edit allows you to change how many appointments/pick ups are allowed for each time slot for each day. Leave it blank to allow unlimited appointments.
- Reset allows you to reconfigure the length of the time slots for each day you are open.
Resetting Time Slots
By default, there is one time slot per day with no limit on appointments for that day. You can change the number of slots per day by clicking "Reset."
And then selecting the length of time (in minutes) for each time slot or setting it to "All Day" (the default). You can also set the initial number of appointments allowed per time slot, but will be able to change them for each time slot:
And finally, you can set the number of appointments that are allowed per time slot. You may want to allow fewer or "0" appointments for things like lunch of a "mid-shift catch up" and/or at the beginning or end of the day:
Be sure to click "Save" when you are done.
The List Reservations page (and exported as part of the Reservation Report) will list the time slot the user chose, and will list appointments in chronological order on each day.

Creating Reservations with Appointments
When using Time Slots and Appointments, users will be required to select a time slot if there is more than one or more than one available for the day. If there is only one slot for the day (e.g. "All Day") it will automatically be selected. You can hide All Day time slots via a setting on Settings -> Loans & Reservations -> Reservations.
Note, that Administrative users can:
- See exactly how many appointments are available per time slot for each day (including 0)
- Override the time slot selection even when there are zero available
- and in general override reservations restrictions in case special cases are needed (e.g. allow more people to come in during a time slot).
Existing Reservations or Changing Time Slot Configuration
What happens if to existing reservations and then start using time slots? The old reservations will be treated as "All Day" reservations and will still be honored. If your hours have not changed, the old reservations will be treated as being in the first time slot of the day. The user will not be notified of the change.
In general, if you change hours or reset your time slot configuration, old reservations will be treated as an appointment in the time slot closest to the new time slots based on the start time of the original reservation.
