myTurn has the ability and APIs to integrate with electronic locks and lockers. Our API is in open beta, please contact us for more details.
We also have a self service Kiosk Interface that is available on some subscription plans. The Kiosk interface enables you to allow users to check items in and out themselves without needing to give them admin permissions. You can also limit which users, based on membership type, can check items in and out themselves, and we have a "Scan Badge/ID" option to allow users to log in without their username and password.
Configuring Kiosk Mode
Note (see below), by default users may not use the Kiosk Interface and must be granted a membership type that allows user of the self service kiosk.
When Self Service Kiosk Mode is enabled on your myTurn site, a new settings page will appear:
"Scan login" requires myTurn to work with you on the security configuration so that your users can only use the scan login option on specific devices to add a layer of security. Form login is available to all Kiosk Users.
You can add custom messages for each step in the process in case you have special instructions for check in, out, and using the self service interface. You can also speed up check in and out by skipping the "confirmation" page. If you are charging rental/usage fees, we recommend enabling the confirmation so users can confirm the items and fees they are paying.
After reviewing and setting your options, save at the bottom of the page.
Limit by Membership Type: finally, make sure any users that you want to be able to use Kiosk Mode have a membership type with the "Allow Kiosk" option enabled.
User Self Service Kiosk Mode
You can use badge/ID scanning, and/or allowing users to enter their username and password to log in to the kiosk.
Most common will be the login form--log in with a valid username and password that has a Membership Type that allows kiosk usage:
You will be brought to a page where you can check items back in (if you have any items checked out), or check items out:
We'll start by returning an item. Scan, click, or tap on the item(s) to return and then Submit:
If you have the item reserved, it will select the dur date for you. If not, you will be able to select the due date up to the maximum:
And then submit the page to check the item out:
