Multiple location support also allows you to set up "pickup only" locations, where items are not stored, but can be picked up. We recommend the following configuration settings on a pickup-only location.
Add your new location
- Go to Settings > Organization > Locations
- Click "Add New" in the upper left
- In addition to the standard fields of naming your location and setting which membership types can view or reserve items there, you will want to be sure to set the following options:
- If this is a Pickup Only Locations, you will want to set the Do not display in the list of locations for browsing option to prevent the location from showing up in the filter to show items by location on the public inventory browsing to regular users. This is important if you do not store items there, you do not want to confuse your users by letting them filter to a location with no items.
- This location has a separate physical location is required to be set (though a full address is not required) for the location to be able to be selected as a pickup location.
- Pickup Hours should also be set, which will lerr you specify which days and hours (and potentially time slots) people can pick up items at that location.
- And of course Save your new location
You will also need to set your items to be "Floating" (we recommend doing this via Item Default Values), please see:
When a user clicks on a Floating item in your inventory, they will be prompted to choose a Pickup Location when starting a reservation (if you have more than one):
And that pickup location will follow the reservation through the build order and checkout process, and allow reporting on usage by location.
